CARGO insurance protects the transported company assets from acts of nature (e.g. lightning strike, hail, rainstorm) and also from accidents such as road accident, burglary and robbery.
ICC - Institute Cargo Clauses drawn up by the Institute of London Underwriters; property (cargo) insurance terms and conditions, commonly applied in international maritime, overland and air transport. The Clauses determine the scope of insurance coverage provided by an insurance agent upon insuring the transported cargo as well as excluded risks.
There are three basic clauses, marked with letters A, B and C, which are different in the scope of the provided insurance coverage.
Apart from the three basic clauses, there is a range of specialty clauses which determine the insurance terms and conditions for a specific type of vehicle or goods.
